—I’m Ana, PhD candidate at the University of Michigan. I study Latin American literature, with a focus on stories about home, land, and the uncertain promise of belonging. I’m especially interested in how fiction reimagines what it means to live, and make space in a world shaped by dispossession.
Outside of research, offline, you’ll find me in used bookstores, going to the movies, camping, walking my dogs (and my cat, on a leash), digging through music playlists, or exploring Detroit cafés. Online, I share the ups and downs of academic life on TikTok — part study diary, part creative outlet, part love letter to quiet moments. I’m also on Academia.edu.
